Marguerite Hallowell was born a Quaker in 1889. She was the daughter of H. Warner and Ann Hallowell of Horsham Monthly Meeting of Friends. She served as Secretary and Trustee of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting of Friends and also as a Clerk of Green Street Monthly Meeting. She died in 1977.
